How technology helps ELL students

Article Referenced

I found this article really great. I was excited that that many people responded. There seems to be not that much excitement when discussing technology programs that I have seen. Most teachers say that it is too hard to get computer time for the whole class. I think that these sites given as a support would be great to have on a few commuters to have as free time.
The PicLits was a great website. There was so many creative ways for students to engage. Students can use pictures as inspiration and create free writing. This is a great site to use to have up for the class during free time or something that you can send home.
So many of these sites are engaging and interactive. The kids will have a blast while still having fun and playing games. The students will participate more and be better engaged in the work, because it isn’t work- it’s play.
Also the only problem that I saw was with Rosetta stone, I have also looked into this program for my self and the cost is great. But at a school in Yakima, Rosetta stone was offered to all staff so that they could better engage with their students. I was disappointed though when I found out how little the teachers used it. I really want to participate in this program.
Overall I was very excited about new tools out there that I never knew existed. There are so many great tools that are still yet to be made and I hope that I am part of that and use them actively in my classroom to teach at a higher level.
